New Amsterdam

Max Goodwin has been appointed as the new Medical Director of the so-called ‘’ New Amsterdam Hospital ’’, the oldest public hospital in the United States ,Since his arrival, he will soon make radical decisions to improve care for patients - people infected with Ebola, inmates and even the president of the United States - with what little funding he has. But, Max keeps a secret from his companions he has cancer.

While he deals with the problems that arise in the hospital, where he has the help of the rest of the team, he wants to get his pregnant wife back.

Development of the series

On September 25, 2017, it was announced that NBC had given the production, later titled Bellevue, to be written for the pilot episode by David Schulner who is also an executive producer alongside Peter Horton. Dr. Eric Manheimer, MD, the former medical director of Bellevue Hospital in New York City, serves as producer.4

On January 12, 2018, it was reported that NBC ordered that the pilot be filmed, with Horton being the director.

On May 4, 2018, it was announced that NBC accepted the pilot and ordered the remaining episodes to be produced.1 6 7 8 A few days later, it was announced that the series would premiere in 2018.9 On June 19 As of 2018, it was announced that the series would officially premiere on September 25, 2018.10 On October 10, 2018, it was announced that NBC had ordered nine additional episodes, bringing the total to 22 episodes.11 On February 4, In 2019, it was announced during the Television Critics Association's annual winter press tour that the series had been renewed for a second season, 12 which premiered on September 24, 2019.13 On January 11, 2020, NBC renewed the series for a third, fourth and fifth season.
